September 12-13- Covered Bridge/Lighthouse Safari
Our meeting was held on Saturday night after a day of visiting Saugerties Lighthouse, Hudson River Maritime Museum, and a Hudson River Cruise on the Rip Van Winkle to get up close and personal with the Rondout and Esopus Lighthouses. Our dinner and subsequent meeting was at the Graze Farm to Table Restaurant in Accord. The short business meeting went over some of the topics covered at the Covered Bridge Summit at Oxford Library. Topics included membership, vandalism, communication with membership and the community and the next World Guide. We went over the coming meetings but the program by Ron Knapp on his new book,The Gunks Through Time, which includes several covered bridges, current and no longer with us. On Sunday most of us took a long drive to Norwich, CT to see the drawing of a new, Arnold Graton bridge, over a pond, catching a few bridges on the way. 21 of us had a great time.
