Chuck and Nancy Knapp were thanked for all their work in getting this meeting place together along with the card exchange. All the officers and trustees were thanked for working so hard all year long together with the Webmaster, Historian, Storekeeper and both Publication Editors. Self introductions, raffles, 50/50, minutes, treasurer and membership reports followed. The slate of officers and trustees up for election was presented and voted on. Old business included the sale of the calendars.
New business was the presentation of the tentative calendar for next year which will be finalized and listed on the website as well as the Newsletter. We’re trying to mix in some new places with the old with programs at each meeting to keep people interested in coming out, (not that the social aspect is not enough).
A discussion was had as to how to use our treasury to help further bridging and we’re looking for suggestions. A discussion was had on the auction and how we can make it better and more profitable including more “quality” merchandise. We will be discussing during the course of the year about possibly cutting down on the number of publications as both editors are having a hard time finding appropriate copy to fill them. Marcia Bailey needs to be informed of events, illnesses and good or bad things happening to members. We need information on festivals and fairs in towns that are near covered bridges so we can be a presence. We had news of members and bridges and another year is closed.
