Meeting Summary, July 12, 2009 Livingston Manor CB Park
The meeting was started with the usual self introductions & raffles. Minutes were read from the previous two meetings as well as the Treasurer’s Report with discussion on how we go about contacting non-renewed members, some of which may just not know they didn’t pay dues this year. A post card will go out with follow-up phone calls. The upcoming meetings were discussed with a special reminder for the September Auction at Hamden Town Hall. The Nominating Committee was set up to create a slate of officers for 2010. Information was delivered about the Martin CB Dedication Ceremony that Karen Marshfield went to; especially noting the replacement of the abutments with granite from an abandoned quarry to be as close to original as the original bridge was with granite abutments. The statement was made that Dick Wilson would have been proud. Safari suggestions for next year were solicited and the suggestion of northern VT/NH was made. We have the Bader’s and the Bailey’s who have made or will be making a trip to Alaska this summer. We had a great speaker from the Catskill Mountainkeeper, Wes Gillingham the program director. We had a great picnic lunch and thank you for the birthday cake to boot.
