With 48 members attending, all enjoyed the buffet and kudos to Al and Ron McGay for handling reservations and place tags and Marcia Bailey for table favors.
After the usual raffles, 50/50, reading of the minutes and treasurer’s report, the Annual Report for 2008 was given by the President, Donna Freeland, treasurer’s report by Hank Messing and Reid Bader, an overview of membership.
Next came the update on the Maine/NH Safari to be held May 16th & 17th. Saturday will be several of the Maine bridges and a Pony Truss RR bridge in NH with a dinner and program in the evening. On Sunday will be some NH bridges ending at Carol and Dave Frantz’s Kissing (The Flume) Covered Bridge.
Jeanette gave a report on the June Meeting (June 14) which will be in Rome, with an auction of some of Dick’s memorabilia and ending with a trip to the cemetery to dedicate the headstone that donations to the Dick Wilson Memorial Fund paid for.
The July meeting (July 12th) will be at the Livingston Manor CB with a program by a representative of the Catskill Mountainkeeper Organization who were instrumental in getting the Beaverkill Campground to remain open this summer with the financial commitment of Sullivan County. Bring your lunch
Information was given by Marty Hornung on the August Erie Canal Cruise.
Information was shared on various celebrations going in in NYS and in other states as well. We had info on a Swiss bridge that has burned.
Several people have had health issues, including Nancy Knapp who was supposed to have an operation and on their way were involved in a car accident.
Ending the meeting was the presentation of Honorary Lifetime Memberships to Hank and Sally Messing and to Hazel Watson who could not be with us. Hopefully we will be able to present her with hers in June.
