After the usual opening pleasantries including the reading of the minutes and the treasurer’s report we talked about Old Business. We got a report on I Love My Park Day at Glimmerglass State Park and Hyde Hall bridge. A lot of brush moving, planting, digging and sprucing up was done and a thank you note was sent from the Society to all that participated.
We then went over upcoming meetings including a train ride and a Carousel Safari around Binghamton. Our picnic will be at Livingston Manor in August. Reminder to make reservations at the Super 8 in Kingston for the Sept.11-13 Covered Bridge and Lighthouse Safari. Reporting on bridge news the railings and sideboards are finished and paid for at Halls Mills. We heard about a resolution being passed in Ulster County to repair Perrine’s and the Olive Turnwood bridge is going to need a lot of repair.
Robert Munson’s bridge is going to stay in the family and we will hear later in the summer about what kind of work is needed. Betty Maynard passed at 83. The guest speaker, Vicki House, Oxford Town Historian, was introduced with her presentation, ” A Walk Around the Park”
