August 14, 2016 Camillus, NY
The meeting was held on August 14th at the Camillus Erie Canal Park in Camillus NY. 18 members and guests attended. Old business was discussed including a summary of the Hyde Hall celebration which included about 50 people attending, a large part being members of our Society. Bill Caswell, president of National, Ruth Pierpont, a state commissioner for Historic Preservation and Donna Freeland gave speeches. A new member was signed up that day with the help of our new brochures and at least 2 newsprint articles were published on the event. Progress is being started on the NYS Path Through History project. We went over the final 2 meetings of the year. The meeting was short as we were scheduled for a boat ride up the canal and what a grand ride it was. Another great day and not cancelled by rain. We broke the curse.
